Meet Christina DeLuccio, Launchmetrics Senior Accountant, number wiz and New York City native.
Tell us a little bit about where you come from…
I’m from Staten Island, born and raised. I went to St. John’s University in New York City where I got my Bachelor’s and Master’s in Accounting.
How did you get into Accounting?
My mother was an accountant and was the head of her Finance department. I admired how she was managing so much of the business. Plus, I’ve always been a numbers person, so that was my strong suit in school.
What led you to Launchmetrics?
I spoke with Megan, our HR Generalist, and thought the company was really cool and different for traditional accountants. I liked how I would be dealing with clients and getting to do other things outside the workflow, like being on-site at Fashion Week. I’ve been at FGPS for over a year and a half now.
Do you feel like you’ve made an impact in our future?
My first job here was moving our invoicing system from manual to digital. Before that, we missed billing many of our clients and would have to send them invoices from a long time ago. After taking a week to transfer 300 of our clients to Zoura, all the kinks were worked out and it’s so efficient.
What’s the most interesting challenge you’ve faced while working at Launchmetrics?
Every day is a new challenge and a lot of assignments are probably the first time I’ve seen it.
Anything coming up that you’re particularly excited about?
My wedding! It’s in March and the honeymoon is in Bora Bora.
First thing you read in the morning?
My phone – I check Instagram, Facebook and Snapchat.
What’s your favorite app(s)?
TimeHop. It combs through your social media accounts and tells you what you were doing on a certain day in the past.
Slack. I love how easy it is to talk to everyone in your company and get fashion news by the team all day.
Favorite kind of pizza? (We have Pizza Fridays!)
Margherita or Grandma’s pizza.
Favorite designer?
BCBG. But if money were no object, it would be Louis Vuitton.
Do you have a motto about your workflow?
If you love what you do, you never work a day in your life.
Any advice for people looking to do what you do?
The real world is more enjoyable than the things you learn in college.
Is there anything you want to share that most people don’t know about you?
I can cook an entire Italian feast. I make a mean chicken parma and Sunday sauce.
